My name is Kjell Gerber. I'm a photographer and video producer from Lehi, Utah. Before joining BuildWitt 5 years ago, I worked for my family's construction company, Gerber Construction.
If we don't count all the part-time work I did as a kid/teenager, I worked at Gerber for about 12 years. I spent a lot of time operating heavy equipment, pouring concrete, and then moved into a Safety Manager role in 2014. After nearly four years of the safety gig, I convinced the company to create a "marketing/media" role.
That's how Aaron Witt found me, and eventually created an opportunity for me to leave the family business and join BuildWitt. Since joining BuildWitt in March of 2019, I've traveled across the country photographing the blue collar people who build the infrastructure that supports our society.
As someone who worked in the field for years, I have a huge respect for blue collar people who battle the elements every day to build the world around us. Getting to photograph these people and the amazing projects they build is incredibly fulfilling for me. Shining a light on them and what they do for society has become a huge passion of mine.
Outside of my work at BuildWitt, I enjoy being a dad and husband, photography, snowboarding, surfing, boating, and traveling.
Thank you for visiting my online store, and thanks for your support. I'm hoping to be able to add more photos and products for you as time goes on. All proceeds from this site will be helping me to pay off my camera, buy more photography gear, and pay for my ability to keep creating artwork on the side.
If you've made it this far and want to learn more about me, you can check out my podcast episodes with Aaron Witt on Dirt Talk, and Jaden Robison on Blue Collar Future.
